One Lie Becomes a Bigger Lie
Everyone in the world has at least lied once in their life. Some of these lies are small and do not cause any harm. Other lies can hurt people immensely! In “The Lie” by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Eli tells a small lie but his father faced a bigger lie.  Dr.Remenzel’s was not facing the truth about Eli.  He did not accept him for who he really was. Lying is not just telling an untruth to others, but also not telling the truth to yourself.                                                                                                                                                                                         Lying is not a bad but for you, but if you do it a lot then it could be.  Facing the truth is a difficult thing to do. First of all, I think that Eli was thinking about how he was going to do the lie . At the end of the story, Doc.Remenzel defused the lie by ignoring it.  In the beginning of the story Mr. Remenzel was pressuring Eli to go somewhere he didn’t want to go.  He did not care about Eli’s feelings. At the end of the story his mother was sad that Eli didn’t get into Whitehill School but she forgave Eli.                                                          Dr. Remenzel wanted his son to be treated special because all of the Mr. Remenzels went  there and their family gave the school a lot of money.  When wasn’t admitted to the school his father tried to bribe the Headmaster. This shows that his father did think  he deserved special treatment.
The thesis is if you tell a lie to anybody then your just telling a lie to yourself. The mean idea form the lie is don’t tell a lie because it could become a bigger lie. The message from my is don’t lie because it will get you in trouble.
